There are a number of different types of cutting styles used on the jigsaws within the Library.

These are some examples of these types of cuts.

NON INTERLOCKING OR PUSH FIT

1STPIECE.JPG (5433 bytes)

The pieces butt up against each other but do not lock together.  Usually the most difficult of puzzles.
INTERLOCKING
Each piece interlocks with its neighbours.   Usually recommended for beginners and those who like easier puzzles.

SEMI INTERLOCKING

3RDPIECE.JPG (3689 bytes)

A combination of interlocking and non interlocking in a random design.  Can be quite difficult and challenging.
COLOUR LINE CUT
Normally found in semi interlocking or non interlocking puzzles where contours of the picture's images are cut around to make separate puzzles.  Dependant on cutter and puzzler's experience as to whether these are difficult. 4THPIECE.JPG (7563 bytes)
